AAPOR-JPSM Citation Program

AAPOR and JPSM are pleased to offer two citation programs: the Citation in Survey Methodology and the Citation in Data Analytics for Social Science.


How does it work?

Each Citation is based on a combination of:
  • Four short courses organized by JPSM—an online 2-day course with approximately 12 hours of recorded lectures that can be viewed at the participant’s convenience plus three onsite 2-day short courses, and
  • An additional elective of either an AAPOR short course offered during the AAPOR Annual Conference or one of the AAPOR Webinar Kits.


How much does it cost?

AAPOR Members
The JPSM short courses are offered to AAPOR members at the discounted rate of $600.
AAPOR Short Courses are available at the Annual Conference at the rate of $125.
AAPOR Webinar Kits range from $130-$220

Non-Members
Non-members are required to pay the flat rate of $650for the JPSM short courses.
They will then receive a complimentary AAPOR membership and receive the member rate for subsequent courses.

The courses included in the new citation programs are as follows:  
 
Citation in Survey Methodology
  • Introduction to Survey and Data Science (online 2-day short course).
  • Introduction to Survey Sampling (onsite 2-day short course).
  • Introduction to Survey Estimation (onsite 2-day short course).
  • Writing Questions for Surveys (onsite 2-day short course).
  • AAPOR Additional Elective.
    • One of the short courses offered at the AAPOR Annual Conference held each spring  OR
    • One AAPOR Webinar Kit
 
Citation in Data Analytics for Social Science
  • Introduction to Survey and Data Science (online 2-day short course).
  • Introduction to Machine Learning and Big Data for Survey Researchers and Social Scientists (2-day short course).
  • Synthetic Data: Balancing Data Confidentiality and Quality in Public Use Files (onsite 2-day short course).
  • Data Linkage (onsite 2-day short course).
  • AAPOR Additional Elective.


How do I receive my citation?

After completing the requirements for a citation, participants will take a written exam, administered by JPSM, to test their knowledge of the material covered in the courses. The citation will be awarded upon attainment of a passing score on the exam.
